ZURICH, HONG KONG & SYDNEY — iCapital, the global fintech platform transforming the world’s investment industry for better outcomes, announces further measures to better serve the Australian market with the appointment of Mark Oliver as Head of Client Solutions, Australia, and plans for an office opening in Sydney. This strategic move underscores the importance of the region and iCapital’s commitment to providing dedicated support and innovative solutions to local wholesale advisers.
Australia represents a significant growth opportunity for iCapital, with a robust financial services industry and a growing demand for alternative investments. iCapital’s on-the-ground presence in Australia will enable local wholesale advisers to access a comprehensive suite of alternative investment solutions, such as Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Assets, Infrastructure, and Hedge Funds, enhancing their ability to efficiently meet the evolving needs of their clients.
Mr. Oliver brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the local wealth management industry to iCapital. Most recently, Mr. Oliver was Chief Distribution Officer at Insignia Financial Ltd. (ASX: IFL), where he oversaw Sales, Client Relationships, Product, and Platform Investment Governance. Prior to that, he was Managing Director, Head of Wholesale Advisory and iShares at BlackRock in Australia.
In his new role with iCapital, Mr. Oliver will build out iCapital’s client franchise in Australia, ensuring that local wholesale advisers have access to leading alternative investment solutions, analytics, and support.
“Today’s announcement outlines another important step forward in our global growth, as we accelerate bringing iCapital’s technology and solutions to asset and wealth managers in Australia,” said Marco Bizzozero, Head of International at iCapital. “Australia is an important strategic market in our mission to make private markets more inclusive. With the hiring of Mark Oliver, we will accelerate our growth in Australia and continue to facilitate increased access to alternative investments, making them a key component of diversified portfolios and enhancing financial outcomes for clients.”
Edwin Chan, Head of Client Solutions, APAC, added, “Australia represents a significant opportunity for iCapital to be where our clients are. Mark Oliver’s role will be pivotal in driving our efforts to support wholesale advisers with high quality alternative investment solutions and dedicated on-the-ground support.”
