Deborah Wheelock

Managing Director,
Chief People Officer

Deborah Wheelock is a Managing Director and the Chief People Officer at iCapital. She leads the worldwide People team and drives all aspects of HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, total rewards, learning and development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and HR technology.

She joined iCapital in January 2021 when there 350 employees and has been instrumental in the growth of the company to over 1,600 employees today. Prior to her current role, Wheelock was responsible for evolving iCapital’s talent development and performance management processes, implemented new strategies to assess and improve employee engagement and experience and invested in the growth of our learning and development platforms and offerings.

Before joining iCapital, Deb led talent and human resource efforts on a global scale at various organizations such as Legg Mason & Co. (acquired by Franklin Templeton), Marsh & McLennan Companies and Mercer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University (Douglass College). She currently serves is on the Board of Directors for U.S. Speedskating and on the Women in Leadership Board of Advisors for University of New Haven.
