NEW YORKiCapital1, the global fintech platform driving the world’s alternative investment marketplace for the wealth and asset management industries, today announced a significant achievement in the evolution of its distributed ledger technology platform, iCapital DLT, at its inaugural flagship U.S. event, iCapital Connect 2025. Since launching the first fund on iCapital DLT in May 2024, the company has successfully onboarded more than 100 funds onto its innovative DLT platform. This major milestone is the foundational step towards offering extensible infrastructure for the alternatives industry.

“The milestone of 100 funds on our distributed ledger is a testament to iCapital’s unmatched experience and commitment to ongoing innovation to support the alternatives industry,” said Lawrence Calcano, Chairman and CEO at iCapital.  “iCapital DLT supports a broad set of fund strategies to reduce the complexity and inefficiencies in the alternatives fund lifecycle. This technology seeks to elevate the entire industry by saving clients thousands of hours, reducing costs related to manual data reconciliation and version sharing, and improving productivity.”

iCapital advisor research from the first quarter of 2025 found that less than half of advisors surveyed (47%) rated their current client reporting and data quality as excellent and even fewer (43%) feel that their platform for managing client onboarding and the investment lifecycle is excellent. The same research saw that 44% of advisors marked improved data reconciliation at the top of the list for technology improvements to enhance an advisor firm’s ability to manage alternative investments. The findings point to an opportunity for DLT to address an industry need.

“iCapital focused on onboarding 100 funds onto our distributed ledger because we knew iCapital DLT had to support the industry at scale,” said Jason Broder, Chief Product Officer at iCapital. “This milestone has stress tested the platform and taught us invaluable lessons about how to fine tune our product and operating model to ensure iCapital can deliver on its promise to improve efficiency and data quality for the industry’s various constituents – fund managers, custodians, administrators, transfer agents, financial advisors, and more – for scalable growth in the years ahead.”
