NEW YORK, NY –(NEWSWIRE)– iCapital Network, the financial technology platform democratizing access to alternative investments, is pleased to announce an educational collaboration with the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association to offer CAIA’s Fundamentals of Alternative Investments certificate program (“Fundamentals”) to its private member network of registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, private banks and family offices.
Fundamentals is an online, self-directed course of study offering a base of knowledge in alternative investments for those who need to understand, discuss and position these asset classes. The program is comprised of 20 one-hour modules that examine core concepts in alternative investing including risk management and due diligence, as well as hedge funds, real assets, private equity, commodities and structured products, and helps to fill a critical education gap for professionals in areas such as asset and wealth management, accounting and law.
“Our mission to democratize alternative investments includes a commitment to making educational resources available to the investors and advisors that need it. CAIA has distinguished itself as the world’s leader in alternative investment education and we are pleased to offer our network members direct access to their foundational curriculum,” said Lawrence Calcano, Chief Executive Officer of iCapital Network.
The two organizations will further collaborate to host an exclusive training event for iCapital’s network members on November 1-2, 2017, in New York, NY. The 2-day program will be led by CAIA instructors and include a customized agenda emphasizing private equity and hedge funds.
“CAIA is singularly focused on providing the highest quality educational curriculum for professionals on alternative investments,” said Keith Black, PhD, CAIA, CFA and Managing Director of Curriculum and Exams at CAIA. “Helping financial and advisory professionals understand the complexities of these topics and work confidently with a wide array of alternative investments is what we do. We’re very pleased to provide access to the Fundamentals program to iCapital’s members.”
iCapital recently expanded the Education section of its public website to include a wide range of new materials – including whitepapers, short reports, commentary, market research, videos, podcasts and blogs – to help investors and advisors understand more about the mechanics of alternative investments, where they fit within portfolios and how they are expected to perform in different market conditions.
“iCapital has dedicated meaningful resources to the development of original insights and the curation of high-caliber educational materials for our member network and the advisory community at large,” said Hannah Shaw Grove, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer at iCapital Network. “As we pursue our goal of being the leading platform for alternative investments, we will continue to offer new educational content in a variety of learning formats to advisors and individual investors.”
