NEW YORK, ZURICH, HONG KONG — iCapital 1, the global fintech platform shaping the future of investing, today announced that Brooks Entwistle will join the firm as Head of International and Member of the Management Committee, succeeding Marco Bizzozero.
Bizzozero, who has played a key role in building and expanding iCapital’s business outside the United States over the past five years, has decided to step down to pursue a new leadership opportunity with a client. He will remain closely connected to iCapital through the firm’s International Advisory Board and will support an orderly transition.
Entwistle’s appointment is subject to the completion of all applicable onboarding and relocation processes. He will be based in Zurich, relocating from Singapore.
In this role, Entwistle will lead iCapital’s International Business across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and Canada, which has grown to US$62 billion since 2020. iCapital’s international strategy remains focused on helping financial advisors and wealth managers incorporate alternative strategies at scale and helping asset managers open new lanes of distribution.
“Brooks brings a strong track record of building and scaling international businesses across financial services and technology,” said Lawrence Calcano, Chairman and CEO of iCapital. “His experience will be instrumental as we continue to grow our global platform and support clients internationally. We would like to thank Marco for being a trusted partner, a cultural leader, and a deeply valued member of our Management Committee over many years. Under his leadership, we have built a strong and enduring foundation for our International Business, supported by a diversified and growing client base across wealth and asset managers, and a high-performing team across our 11 international offices.”
Entwistle will join iCapital with nearly 35 years of global leadership, operating experience, and board-level perspective. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Ripple. Prior to that, he was Chief Business Officer, International at Uber, responsible for business development and strategic partnerships across APAC, EMEA, and LATAM. Prior to spending close to a decade as a technology builder, Entwistle served as CEO at Everstone, an India and Southeast Asia-focused private equity firm. He previously spent 22 years at Goldman Sachs in various roles, including 15 years based in Asia, where he was a Partner. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of Goldman Sachs Southeast Asia and CEO of Goldman Sachs Singapore, and before that spent five years in Mumbai as CEO and Founder of Goldman Sachs India, where he built the firm across all divisions. Earlier in his time at Goldman Sachs, he started the firm’s Asia High Technology Group, and across his many roles and geographies at the firm he covered financial sponsors.
Entwistle holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School, and currently serves on several boards, including EQT AB and the Aspen Institute.
“I am excited that I will be joining iCapital at a time of continued international expansion. Drawing on my experience as a global builder, I’m looking forward to helping extend iCapital’s platform and capabilities to support clients worldwide as demand for alternative investment solutions continues to evolve,” said Brooks Entwistle.
