LISBON — iCapital1, the leading global fintech platform driving access and efficiency in alternative investing for the asset and wealth management industries, announced the hiring of Vanda de Jesus as Managing Director, Country Head of Portugal.
In this role, Mrs. Jesus will oversee and coordinate a team of more than 150 people based in iCapital’s Lisbon office across Technology and various operations and support functions. In addition, Mrs. Jesus will bring her extensive market knowledge and network to build relationships with local stakeholders and continue to attract new talent to iCapital. Mrs. Jesus will report to Marco Bizzozero, Head of International, based in Zurich.
Mrs. Jesus joins iCapital from the Portuguese Government where she was Executive Director of Portugal Digital and had the opportunity to lead efforts to accelerate the country’s digital transformation. Prior to her work with Portugal Digital, Mrs. Jesus worked for Microsoft Portugal for seven years, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer and Public Relations Lead. In this role, she created strategies and messaging to drive lead generation and transform Microsoft Portugal’s marketing approach to digital and cloud first. Prior to her tenure at Microsoft, Mrs. Jesus served as Marketing and Sales Director at Viatecla and Executive Director at APDC. Mrs. Jesus has a degree in Business Management from ISCTE, and a robust history of leadership positions with premier Portuguese government and non-government organizations focused on economic development through technology.
Portugal is of strategic importance to iCapital. In October 2020, iCapital acquired a 65-person Portugal-based product development company from Runtime, Group Ltd. This team of experts joined iCapital’s existing team of engineers, developers and designers dedicated to the ongoing technological innovation of iCapital’s offerings.
